United Way of Lanark County
Emergency Funding Policy
Each year at the Board of Director’s monthly meeting of February, an amount of 2% or such other amount as may be approved by the board, is set aside from the preceding year’s annual fundraising campaign, for the purpose of Emergency Funding.
Priority Areas: Any event that reduces or eliminates the ability of a group to carry on its’ normal mandate – i.e. loss of equipment, staff, funding, including funding delayed from other sources. Any event of nature i.e. ice storms, floods, fires etc.
Distribution Policy: Requests for emergency funding will be reviewed at the Board of Director’s monthly meeting closest to the date of reception of the application. The United Way of Lanark County will make every effort to respond within 30 days after receipt of the request.
Required Information: The group must indicate the nature and urgency of the request and possible ramifications should funding not be found. A budget should also be submitted, possible other funders indicated and amounts of that funding.
Feedback: The Board of Directors of the United Way of Lanark County requests recipients of Emergency Funding submit, within six months, a short report advising the United Way of Lanark County the progress and/or outcomes achieved by the receipt of our Emergency Funding.
